Rockin’ You Out For Christmas:The Wizards Of Winter Tour

9 November 2017 News

Winter is coming! Along with winter comes one of the best holidays of the season, Christmas. What a better way to celebrate the holidays, rockin’ out with the Wizards of Winter. The holiday rock band features members of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Rainbow, Alice Cooper and Ted Nugent.  The band is set out to perform on their annual holiday tour.

The band was formed in 2009, when band leader Scott Kelly found out one of the local food pantries were struggling.  Kelly decided to hold a benefit concert to raise funds for the for the food pantry. Kelly put together a band of seasoned musicians to create a band, who would put on a holiday performance. The performance was a success and the band was able to help the food pantry. However, an added part to the success was that the event had created fans who were wanting to purchase their music. At that point in time, there wasn’t any music to purchase, because it was only supposed to be a couple holiday concerts. Subsequently, the band decided it was a great idea to record and eventually tour.

The music and performances will enthrall all ages of fans who love Christmas music and metal. The band feeds off the crowd’s energy and pushes their performances to the max. Lead Guitarist, Fred Gorhau explains, “There are moments every night, at every show, where things are really firing on all cylinders. It’s like lightning in a bottle. This show is very much about the fans and the audience and we feed off of their reaction that we get – both during & after the show”. Gorhau adds” For me there is probably no better feeling that I get from the fans as, when they tell me, that we are their “new yearly tradition. That shows me we earned a fan for life.”
