Watch out, this is a show that will be one for the history books! Mark your calendars for 10/15, to be at the Dropsixx reunion show. The show features the band Dropsixx and Emperors and Angels at the Canopy Club in Urbana, Illinois and most definitely will be a killer night of rawk!
Both bands, native to Illinois will be bringing the noise with a full night of mayhem and music.
Peoria, Illinois area natives, Emperors and Angels recently released their newest album, “Breaking Gravity” which is filled with heavy hitting riffs, earth shattering vocals (as expected), and an overall amped vibe!
Not the Girl Next Door had a chance to interview the band to discuss the upcoming Canopy Club show and dive a little into the depths of the band.
Tell us a little about the band, where are you from? How did you meet?
Hey there, and thanks for reaching out to us before the big show! We are all longtime friends that finally got the shot to make some music. We dudes are fun, animated, silly and outgoing.
Please come venture over to merch world to meet us! We always make sure to hang out before and after our shows. We enjoy long walks on the beach, light petting, and of course libations before and after we RAWK!
What kind of music would you describe your sound as? Who are some of your musical influences?
Influences are all over the map! Rock, Metal , Jazz , Pop. These genres have all had a large impact on what we create! We aren’t pups! We are creating an original, yet modern style of RAWK. Infused with a throw back of the grunge and metal sound we grew up on! Currently we are in the studio. Although, we just released our sophomore effort “Breaking Gravity” to all major platforms! So, go pick that bad boy up and sing along at the next show! ALSO, buy a hoodie when you see us! The weather is perfect and we have a sexy piece to offer! Or feel sexier in one of our unisex tank tops, hats or t-shirts! Maybe a koozie for your beer? YuP! We got that!
How does the collaboration process work as far as writing/composing music?
Being a producer, singer and songwriter, I can only say this and answer for myself. Sit on your hand until it becomes completely numb. After that feeling takes affect, grab an instrument and see what comes first. Trust the process!
How does it feel when you put all your hard work to the test and perform live? Do you have any crazy/performance band/fan stories?
There is nothing better than achieving a believable response from the show and music you perform live!As A musician, there aren’t many other feeling in the world that top that.
I feel entertaining this question could be incriminating. Although we are proud to say we are currently touring to shows with a fully legal trailer. I would like to add there were no White Castle’s damaged in any late night effort to achieve after show munchies! All hotels are in perfect working order, and never have we ever… Okay! Too much.
Let’s talk about your upcoming show at The Canopy Club on October 15, 2022, what can concert goers expect?
We are thrilled to be rocking the Canopy! Each member has performed there in the past and we are ready to murder some ear holes collectively! The radness is, many member of us have shared the staged with Dropsixx and we cannot wait to RAWK again!
Grab those tickets! Start steaming Emperors & Angels, Follow US, Like US, SHARE US, and Subscribe! We have new music coming out soon that will knock some socks off!
We appreciate the time and interview, Angela and Rock Rage! We also would like to show some love to Marisa Wentz at the Canopy for the love, and Dropsixx for including us on their reunion show!
