Four stages full of today’s best up and coming rockers and some of the greatest bands of all time wrapped into one day.  Highlights for us, were Gemini Syndrome, Clutch, Mammoth WVH, Ill Nino and The Sword, but In this Moment, Oxymorrons, Black Label Society and the Might Kiss put their stamp on Rockville 2002!

Gemini Syndrome had the crowd on their toes from start to finish, bringing a well polished set to the Daytona Crowd highlighted with the chart topping hits “Die with Me” and “Stardust”.  This Band will headline future Rockville’s!  What is a Festival without Clutch!  Clutch always brings the noise as the Daytona Crowd Chanted along as the band belted out a powerful set.  What we love about Welcome to Rockville is the diversity of Rock and Metal Bands that when it all comes together gives the fans an unbelievable Rock N’ Roll Experience.  Mammoth WVH was one of the bands we were looking forward to seeing and they were worth the wait, being the first time that we have seen them.  A riveting set from the debut album left fans wanting more.

It was time for a quick break to check out the attractions, vendors and food that we come to expect from DWP Presents festivals!  I love the Artistic displays of the Bands that they arrange around the festival grounds.  This gives fans so many memorable photo opportunities an that little detail, sets DWP Festivals from the rest.  They truly care about the fans experience!  And of course it would not be a festival without getting Island Noodles!

Back to the stage we go to see blazing sets from Black Label Society, Papa Roach, Five Finger Death Punch and get ourselves ready for the Mighty KISS!  Kiss brought the House Down with an incredible journey of their hits including Detroit Rock City, or should we say Daytona Rock City!  And the Shout it Out Loud had the Daytona Crowd Roaring!  The Complete Set was full of favorites including “Heaven’s on Fire”, “Lick It Up”, Calling Dr Love” and closing out the set with Black Diamond, before hitting the Daytona Crowd with encores of “Beth” and “Rock N Roll All Nite”.  As we were walking out we could hear the fans talking about the amazing experience that they had and just to think this is only day one.

Time to head out and get ready for Day 2 of Welcome to Rockville!
